Excellent work @Angie! Welcome to the world of web designing.

Now let’s explore more tags :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

#43

Is this the process? notepad, codes, edit words between codes, save as index.htm?
Or does the process vary?

#44

Should have waited for your last reply. Ok, exploration continua!!

#45

Yes. But there are other methods. You can use other IDEs. An IDE is an Integrated Development Environment.

#46

Now, let us add more lines to our paragraph. This is my paragraph now.

<p>At the moment, there is a growing power vacuum in Nigeria. The civil war is how Nigeria transitioned into the modern world. The inheritors of the power vacuum left by the old guard at the time were army generals and civilians who helped win the war, today, those army generals are either dead, dying or in semi-retirement, namely; Segun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida, Theo Danjuma, Muha Buhari, Abdul Abubakr, to name a few, the direction the nation took after the civil war can either be directly or indirectly linked to decisions made by these men, as they approach the latter years of their lives, they interfere less in the daily running of the country’s affairs, this is where the power vacuum comes in; someone or another batch of politicians, technocrats (we pray and hope), army generals must take their place to determine the nation’s destiny. </p>

<p>This is the root cause of the various agitations that have come to plague the country in recent years and the main reason why the 2015 election was a do or die affair for certain sections of the country; we are about to witness another shift in political power, one that will be filled with all kinds of actions and intrigues. </p>

#47

Now I want to link the word “Nigeria” to Nigeria’s wikipedia page. How do I do that ?

I use the <a></a>tag.

#48

For a new paragraph, do I insert the

tag at its beginning and end?

#49

Now, this is my index.htm

<html>
<head>
<title>My First Webpage</title>

<body>

<p>Funsho is a quiet person. He enjoys reading books on history and sociology, he is single and enjoys the company of women, he is a Christian deist</p>

#50

Yes you start with the opening tag <a> and end it with it’s closing tag </a>

#51

This is the result. See how “Nigeria” is now colored orange. It’s because of this line of my code
<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerians"> Nigeria </a>

#52

I hope you understand @Angie.

#53

Here, the tag is <a> </a>, it has an attribute called “href”, in the opening tag <a>, we equate href to the website we are linking our text, Nigeria, to. Get it ?

Cc @Angie

#54

I think I am missing something. My weblink isnt working.

#55

Ok. Send a screenshot of the error.

#56

Yayy!!

#57

This is what we are doing:

We have a paragraph below

“This is Nigeria”

In the sentence above, we want a situation where by when the user clicks the word “Nigeria”, it takes the user the wikipedia page for Nigeria. What do we do?

We make that Nigeria a link using the <a></a> tag.

so the above sentence will look like this

This is <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerians"> Nigeria </a>

The result will be this:

This is Nigeria

#58

Good job! :+1:t6::+1:t6::+1:t6:

#59

Now you know how to create a link within a paragraph.

Now, let us add an image to our webpage. I want to add a picture to my paragraph of myself now using the <img> tag.

#60

This is what my code looks like now:
